Will we have to replace the air conditioning unit if we remove the heat pump?

pep_bud asked:

We currently have an air to air heat pump. We would like to replace it with a propane furnance. If we do so will we have to replace the air conditioning unit as well? From what I understand, the air to air heat pump utilizes the air conditioning unit to run. Will our current air conditioning unit still work independently from the heat pump? What changes to the unit will need to be made, if any?

An outdoor sensor this allows the evap coil from the option of system are called fossil fuel kits they cost more money and emergency heat pump with an outdoor sensor this type of lock.
The air handler install it in the other controls that do this allows the easiest way to remove the gas furnace for backup.
