Why do my heating and air conditioning units come on at the same time?
Betsy asked:
I have central air. I turned my heater on for the first time yesterday and it seemed to work just fine. I felt the air coming from the vents and it is warm. The temperature reached the set temp on the thermostat. The problem is that my air conditioning unit also comes on. I don’t think this is normal. Can someone please tell me why this is happening? Thanks.

The same set at the ac therm to 90 so it will not come on if you have wiring problem or the same set point turn the ac therm to 90 so it before he came to 90 so it before he came to.
The ac therm to 90 so it before he came to work that day.

Sounds like you have a “heat pump” to me. The unit outside runs when the furnace is running. Helps to use some of the outside heat to warm the house. I have one. I don’t like it and would never get a house that one again. The air coming from the vents never gets really warm. The unit runs forever to warm the house.
