Mother Earth and your ability to care
Is it not time to worry about what sustains us is part of our everyday consciousness lifestyle, and becomes an established practice as brushing your teeth?
Unfortunately, this is not the case. Profit before survival seems more important. short-term perspective comes before long-term, and our interaction with the planet that takes care of us every day is not something that comes naturally to us.
I'm talking about Mother Earth. Earth Day has come and gone, we are still keeping her in mind?
How can we take something this essential to our existence for granted? Fortunately, going green is the buzz phrase these days. Finally, it is fashionable the earth friendly. When our appearance is more important than our values, we lose the aspect of being human and the ability to interact instead of using. The ability to see ourselves as part of a relationship which is an expression of who we are, rather than what we would be perceived, is lost.
Nine shares easier to keep Mother Earth healthy
The obvious one is recycling, which seems so fundamental that it should be second nature, but it is not. Please get out of your way to recycle and, if possible, compost.
Choose products from the recycling materials as opposed to those who are not. For example, spend more money on quality clothes that last longer and save these items until they come back into fashion. Or give it to those who need when you have not. Some companies are also introducing eco-fashion, even big brands like Levi.
Carry your bag instead of getting one of the grocery store. There are many Little Ones folding on the market these days that correspond perfectly in your purse.
Choose non-toxic. It's better for your health and the environment.
Eating in some way help support the land rather than to exploit. Consider buying locally or purchase food from your local farmers market.
produce and buy food in whole form and its packaging is little or no necessary.
Get a water filter and refill a water bottle instead of buying the most plastic.
Get your online journal. And do not print unless you need.
Save energy. Turn off lights, do not wash dishes under the water Current only use the air conditioner if it is really necessary, and use rechargeable batteries.
Tips for the product and food choices
Select organic foods
Eating organic food is healthier for you and for the environment because it omits the pesticides and toxic fertilizers. It also supports small farmers, rather than industrial farms, which leads to less pollution.
Factory Farms pollute more and contribute to global warming. Apart from the fact that they treat animals inhumanely, the meat of these animals is dangerous for health. Choose foods from sustainable farming, adapting a style of food high in vegetables, and eating meat and eggs, the choice between full air, non-antibiotic, and animals without growth hormone.
Choose fish or agricultural resources non-toxic in the wild.
Shop and eat in proper proportions, cook carefully, and do not waste it. This does not mean eating everything on your plate, it does not help the environment either. The overuse causes of diseases and therefore more waste with the need of medicine and hospitals, not to mention, you suffer. Instead, ask forward to remove the food in the dish you already know that you do not eat anyway. Bring leftovers home with you for lunch or give to someone hungry in the street.
Go no and select natural products, non-toxic
Try buying household non-toxic cleaners, unbleached toilet paper, paper and towels. You do not breathe fumes or toxic chemicals to touch your skin. It also causes less pollution to manufacture these products. Seventh Generation products, EarthWise, BioKleen and Ecover are good options.
Use recycled office paper and omit the disposable pen.
Store your food in glass containers that last longer, especially if you use a microwave (not recommended) to heat your food. Plastic breaks down over time and is as unhealthy for you that leaks in food when heated.
Buy Microfiber cleaning cloths are washable, reusable, and trap dirt and spills better than using tons of napkins.
Buy larger containers of dish soap and pour into small containers as you need, instead of a large number of small bottles.
Wash and dry your Ziploc bags. Hang it on a stick in a glass dry.
Buy products that come in glass containers with lids that screw on so you can use them for storage later.
Remove your shoes inside means less cleaning, less use of energy and fewer toxins in your home.
Choose airlines with the latest fleet when you travel. They consume less fuel.
There are several things you can do to green your life, every day of the year, not only on Earth Day. Just a conscience and a willingness to take care of our planet with choices every day.
"Achieving true happiness may require bringing about a transformation in your Outlook, your way of thinking, and this is no small matter. "The 14th Dalai Lama
