However, a boiler that runs hot water radiators is THE BEST type of heat. It is not true that you have to buy a heat pump for central air. If you are in the North then I would leave them separate. If you are in the South you can get away with using a heat pump for heating and cooling. If you are somewhere in the middle of the country you need to determine how many days a year are below 30 F. Heat pumps don't heat worth beans when the temperature gets down in the 20s. Geoffrey
