How do I vent a portable air conditioning unit without a sliding window?
Per D asked:
I am thinking about purchasing a portable air conditioning unit but do not have a sliding window. Is it possible to put the hose thing out a velux window (one that swings rather than slides)?
this is it here if it helps;

the portable ac, is it a window unit or really a portable , because they make those , maybe wallmart , . a window unit needs to have its back half out the window because of the heat it produces in the condensation process. portable i believe is just like a dehumidifier and bucket.

I have had units like this. They work the same way as all air conditioners, they remove heat and humidity from one room and place into other ( outside ). You will have to modify your window to accept the vent. You could get someone to install a dryer vent exhaust thru the wall.
