How do I keep a window secure after installing air conditioning?

Patrick B asked:

My condo is on the ground level and I would like to install a window mount air conditioning unit, but am worried about security. Is there a way to keep the burglars out?

Attach four timber rattlesnake rattles and one diamond back rattle to 5 sticks. Use approximately 4 inches of string, or enough to have them fully in the air flow. This will definitely stop all intruders, even rats.

Also, is best to have 4-6 “buttons” per rattle.

there are motion sensors and audible alarms that run on batteries that can be bought to solve the issue. These usually work on contacts that, when broken, complete a circuit and trip the alarm. Install is a simple attachment with screws.

    Hope this helps
