I have an older Carrier central air conditioner. On those hot humid days I have to alwasy keep an eye around my furance, because sometime the A coil freezes up. So I shut off the at the thermostat the air adn just leave the blower on…
This morning however I notice me furnace fan was off like it should base on the thermostat but the compressor was still running. The couple of years I would clean the contactor out side. The question I have is where can I get a new contactor?
Call a HVAC company and have the unit serviced professionally. The A coil should be cleaned and new freon added. You might have a leak in the coil, lineset or compressor.
If the unit is very old get some prices on a hew high SEER unit and make sure it is sized properly for your house. The new models use R410A as a refrigerant and operate swiwth higher efficiency and are environment friendly.
