Can parakeets travel in air conditioning?

Alyssa K asked:

I was planning to bring my parakeet to a pet place to get his wings clipped. It is supposed to be 89-92 today in New York. Is my parakeet going to be overheated? If so, can he travel in air conditioning?

I have a small air conditioner in the room I keep my three budgies in and it never seems to bother them. As long as you don’t put it on too cold. They might freeze. Plus if it is going to be that hot it might be a good idea to give them a lot of water.

He can travel in air conditioning. The important thing is not to let him get in a draft (moving air). He can get sick very quickly if you let air move over him, however you can cover the cage with a cloth to protect and use the air conditioning.
