Automatic trans car has problem switching gears when air condition is on?

jearl119 asked:

99 Ford Taurus has problem with switching gears. Starting to drive off from red lights really slow, pressing my foot to the floor and it not getting faster. It could be my imagination but when I turn off the air condition it in a literal second goes at normal pace. It will drive fine again until I slow down or stop again and then it will not start out slow if I turn off the air. This is so baffling. Anyone?

Your ac will use power from the car and will slow your car down, does it do this with the ac off.

The engine just doesnt have enough to be in order sound like the engine just doesnt have enough to accelerate with ac on if its ok tuneup seems to be in order sound like the engine.

The engine has to do more so noticeable on cars that have reduced power with the compressor this is more work to sacrifice power to stay cool.
