Air Conditioning Btu Room Size
air conditioning unit for a loft conversion?
I’m looking at installing an air conditioning unit in my bedroom in a loft conversion, in the afternoons and evenings in the summer the temperature rises well over 110°F / 40°C which makes it very uncomfortabel to sleep.
The room is about 16m² and has the whole roof area and 1 side wall exposed to the outside sun. What size air conditioning unit should i look at fitting in BTU’s or KW?
Also would it be ok to install the outside part of the unit in the loft void by the eaves as i can’t install it on the outside due to local planning laws.
Unfortunately you have to install the condensing unit outside as it needs to get rid of the hot air.
The only thing I can suggest would be to place the CDU on the floor in the garden and pipe straight up outside.
You’re going to need around 16Kw. Possibly a little more.
